Stockulation · An investment operating system

Better decisions beat better predictions.

Nobody can tell you what the market will do tomorrow. What you can control is how well you research, how much risk you take, and what you learn afterward. Stockulation organizes your investing around exactly that.

Before any investment, answer
  1. Why this company?
  2. Why this valuation?
  3. Why now?
  4. What happens if I'm wrong?
  5. What evidence supports the thesis?
  6. How does this strengthen my portfolio?

In Stockulation, your answers become the thesis attached to the investment, saved with what you saw when you wrote them.

The problem

Everything existed.
Nothing worked together.

Research in one app, charts in another, trades at the broker, math in a spreadsheet, reasoning in scattered notes. Each tool does its job. What gets lost is everything in between: why you bought, what would change your mind, and what you learned last time.

Four levels, one picture of your investing

Your broker shows rows of trades. Stockulation shows how each trade fits into an investment, how that investment fits into a portfolio, and how it all adds up in your book.

  • BookEverything you invest, in one place.
  • PortfolioA group of investments with a shared purpose, like income or long-term growth.
  • CampaignOne investment in one company, from first idea to exit, with every trade made for it.
  • PositionA single holding inside a campaign: shares, a put or a call.

The dashed boxes are what your broker sees. Everything around them is what Stockulation adds.

Why campaigns matter

Six trades, or one investment?

Your broker does its job well: every trade executed, recorded exactly and ready for tax time. What it can't hold is why you made each trade. A campaign keeps the same trades together with the thesis they serve, so you can answer what the investment actually earned and whether managing it helped.

Every investment has a reason and rules

Portfolios and campaigns each carry a thesis: the price where the stock is cheap, where it's fully valued, and where the bear case begins; how long you'll be patient; and the business drivers that must keep holding. Each thesis follows a framework, your rules for entering, managing and exiting, with limits such as how much of a portfolio one stock may take.

As the market moves, each driver shows whether it's still holding, and a limit you're nearing shows as a drift to explain before it becomes a departure. When you change your mind, the new version is saved beside the old one, so you can always see what you believed and when.

Your thinking, saved in context

Every research note, observation, trigger, decision and thesis is a journal entry. Each one saves a snapshot of what you were looking at when you wrote it, along with where you were and the dashboard level you were using, and tags link it to the company, campaign and ideas it relates to. Nothing about your investments changes without an entry.

Over time, your journal becomes a timeline of how you think. The Archive, in Research, lets you move through it in order, filter by entry type, tag or stock, group entries by intent or outcome, and see how the price has moved since each one. Practice sessions can be included or left out.

Numbers you can trust. Every figure in a snapshot shows where it came from and how current it was. If something wasn't known, it says so.

Is it for me?

Which of these sounds like you?

People come to Stockulation from different places. Here's what it offers each of them, and what's ready today.

I have too many tools and none of them talk.

Your broker, charting app, spreadsheet and notes each hold a piece of the story. Your options trades show up as unrelated rows.

With Stockulation

Your trades organized into campaigns, portfolios and one book, each with its reasoning attached. See the whole result of an investment: premium collected, what your shares really cost, and whether managing it helped.

Ready in the betaCampaign and position recording and the analysis engine are built. Book and portfolio management in Home is in development.

I want to get better, not just busier.

Some trades work and some don't, and you can't tell skill from luck. Sometimes you break your own rules and only notice afterward.

With Stockulation

Write your thesis before you enter: what should happen if you're right, and what would prove you wrong. Journal each decision as you make it. Later, the Archive shows your reasoning next to the outcome, so you can tell a mistake from bad luck.

Ready in the betaRecording decisions is built. Journaling with snapshots and the Archive are in development.

The market doesn't feel like it's meant for me.

It looks like a game for insiders or people who can see the future. Maybe you lost money once and stepped away.

With Stockulation

You don't have to call the next move. A deliberate process accepts uncertainty: decide what you're willing to pay, what would prove you wrong, and how much risk you can live with. Stockulation was built by someone who had rough years too, and learned more from reviewing them than from any tip.

It won't remove risk. It helps you take only the risks you meant to take.

I want to start, but I don't know where.

Everyone online has a different strategy. You don't know what to learn first, and you don't want to learn with money you can't afford to lose.

With Stockulation

Start with the questions, not the trade. The Start here guides take you through how Stockulation works, setting up your book and your first campaign, step by step. Then practice in Simulation on generated stocks, stepping forward day by day, before any money is involved.

Ready in the betaGuides, a Beginner dashboard level and Simulation practice are in development. Learning in context is planned, so expect an early product that is still building its beginner path.
New to this?

Where to start

The order Stockulation is designed around. None of it asks you to predict anything.

  1. Learn the six questionsThe checklist at the top of this page. Try it on any company you're curious about.
  2. Choose a framework to studyStart from a ready-made one, such as the Wheel, cash-secured put entry, or buy and hold, and learn it properly before mixing ideas.
  3. Practice in SimulationRun a practice campaign on a generated stock, stepping forward day by day, with no money at stake.
  4. Write your thesis firstBefore any real decision, record why, at what price, and what would prove you wrong.
  5. Look back in the ArchiveCompare what happened with what you wrote. Keep what worked; change what didn't.
Why this exists · from the founder

This project didn't begin as a startup. It began with frustration. Not with the markets. With myself.

  1. 1 · The question

What do I actually do now?

Years of books, strategies, options courses and apps. Still, with real money on the line, the same question came back. Information wasn't the problem. Nothing connected.

  2. 2 · The habit

    Writing down why

I documented every investment: what I believed, what price I'd pay, what would tell me I was wrong, and what I learned. That habit is what the journal is built around.

  3. 3 · The method

    Mistakes became rules

The account had hard stretches, including long periods below where it started. Reviewing them instead of hiding them is what formed Wheel Swing Trading.

  4. 4 · The workspace

    The software didn't exist

My research never became my thesis. My thesis never followed the trade. Lessons from one investment never reached the next. So I started building the workspace myself.

  5. 5 · The beta

    Finding out together

I can build what I think investors need. The founding beta is how we find out what they actually need.

I haven't solved investing. No one has.I'll keep documenting the process, mistakes included.I'll question the framework, not protect it.I'll use AI to help me think, never to think for me.
Adapted from Why This Exists
The flagship framework

Wheel Swing Trading

The first framework built into Stockulation, and the one its founder uses. It blends company research, chart analysis, portfolio planning, stock ownership and options into one management process. Instead of needing one perfect prediction, it plans for more than one outcome.

Profit thesisWhat should happen if the investment works?
Failure thesisWhat evidence would show the reasoning is wrong?
Acceptable exposureAt what price and size is owning it acceptable?
The core idea: acceptable error

You can be imperfect about timing without wrecking the investment. That is not permission to defend a failed position. When the reason for the investment fails, the framework requires reassessment and possibly exit.

  1. 1Select

Find a company worth owning or actively trading.

  2. 2Define

Set your price range, profit thesis and failure thesis before taking risk.

  3. 3Structure

Shares, options or both, fitted to price, volatility and your portfolio.

  4. 4Reassess

Compare new evidence with the original reason.

  5. 5Manage

Adapt as price, volatility, time and risk change.

  6. 6Exit / Redeploy

Take the result, close a failed thesis, or move the capital.

The trade is not the strategy. The management process is the strategy.

If the stock rises

  • Share gains
  • Covered-call income
  • Take profit or reduce

If it stays flat

  • Premium income
  • Time works for you
  • Keep watching

If the stock falls

  • Lower effective entry
  • Possible assignment
  • Restructure, reduce or exit

Every path returns to reassessment. The framework does not claim every outcome is profitable. It tries to keep good options open while staying willing to exit when the thesis breaks.

In plain terms
Cash-secured put
You're paid a premium to agree to buy shares at a price you chose, with the cash set aside.
Covered call
You're paid a premium to agree to sell shares you own at a price you chose.
Assignment
When the other side exercises, and you buy or sell the shares as agreed.

Both carry real risk. You can end up owning shares that keep falling, or selling shares that keep rising.

You don't need to trade options to use Stockulation. This framework uses them; the ready-made buy and hold framework uses shares only. You can copy any ready-made framework, change its rules, and keep each version with your reasons.

Workspaces

Three workspaces, one connected record

Each workspace is a different view of the same book. A stock you research, a framework you practice and a campaign you manage stay linked, and guides walk you through each task.

Home

In development

What needs me today?

Manage what you hold, from your whole book down to a single position.

  • A daily check-in in a fixed order: events to confirm, then limits to explain, then any thesis due for review. A quiet day takes seconds.
  • Expirations, assignments and dividends waiting for you to confirm.
  • Value, results and free cash for the book, each portfolio and each campaign.
  • A weekly record of what you did: trades recorded, flags explained, entries written. Not a score of any stock.

Research

In development

What do I believe, and why?

Learn about what you own, what you're considering and the market, and find new ideas.

  • Screens across about 6,200 US stocks, with filters suited to your dashboard level. Results are never ranked and are not recommendations.
  • Watchlists where every stock has a reason, rechecked against your screens and frameworks.
  • A stock's key figures asked as plain questions: is it profitable, priced sensibly, financially safe, growing?
  • A thesis draft that carries into Home when you start a campaign, and the Archive of your journal.

Simulation

In development

Does my method hold up?

Try a method before you trust it with money. Nothing here touches your book.

  • Practice. The engine generates stocks that move with a shared market. Read the charts, write a thesis, and step forward day by day. You find out what kind of stock it was at the end.
  • Practice one campaign, a portfolio of 10 stocks, or a whole book of 20, over 6 to 12 months.
  • Benchmark. Run a framework across every stock on recorded history and judge each one by your own criteria, such as largest drop or return beside buy and hold.
  • Save the stocks that pass as a watchlist. No score or ranking of ours: a stock passes or fails your criteria.
Beginner, Intermediate, Expert. Choose a dashboard level and every workspace shows the depth that suits you. Your level also sets how far Simulation goes: a campaign at every level, a portfolio from Intermediate, a book at Expert.
Planned inside every workspace: an AI research assistant, community features, and learning that appears where you meet a concept.

Questions

What people ask first

Does Stockulation tell me what to buy?

No. It doesn't give tips, signals or recommendations. It helps you research, write down your reasoning, structure the investment and review the result. The decisions stay yours.

Does it rank stocks or pick them for me?

No. Screens and benchmarks show which stocks meet criteria you set. Results are never ranked by us, and a stock that can't be assessed is listed with the reason rather than dropped.

Does it place trades for me?

No. You trade through your own broker. Stockulation records what you did and why.

How do my trades get in?

You record each trade in its campaign as you make it. The Home workspace is designed to reconcile your records against your broker statement, so the two match.

Do I need to trade options?

No. Options are part of the flagship framework, but there are ready-made frameworks that use shares only, and you can build your own.

I'm a complete beginner. Is this for me?

Yes. The companion mobile app teaches foundational market concepts up to more advanced portfolio management skills, and the web app provides a place to practice for beginners or manage investments immediately for more experienced users.

I'm an advanced trader. Why would I use this?

Your broker records trades; Stockulation records the investment, keeping every trade tied to the reasoning and rules behind it. That shows you the true result of each idea and whether your own decisions added to it. Over time it turns your trading history into evidence you can test, refine and build on.

What will the AI do?

It's planned. The assistant will work from your own book, thesis and journal to explain and question. It won't make decisions, and your own records stay the source of truth.

The founding beta

Help build a better way to invest

The founding beta is where a personal investment workspace meets investors with different experience, goals, strategies and habits. Participants use developing versions, say what works and what doesn't, and shape what Stockulation becomes. Some ideas will work. Some will need refinement. Some will deserve to disappear.

The beta isn't the declaration that Stockulation has already succeeded. The beta is how we begin finding out. From the founder's letter

Before the beta opens

Bring a thesis with you

You can start the process today, on paper. When the beta opens, this becomes your first journal entry.

  1. Pick one investmentSomething you own, or something you've been watching.
  2. Answer the six questionsWhy this company, why this valuation, why now, what if you're wrong, what evidence, and how it fits your portfolio.
  3. Write what would prove you wrongOne or two specific things. This is the line most investors never write down.
  4. Date it and keep itLater you'll compare it with what actually happened. That comparison is the whole point.

Let's build a better way to invest.
